Simplicity. Elegance. Redemption. A dance of positive & negative space in red & white. This original design quilt has 17 unique, bursting blocks inspired by the functionally beautiful architecture of the Victorian Era.
The center is red appliqué on white, positive space, in an exploding sunburst design. Christ’s sacrifice explodes out from His purity. The border is 16 different reverse appliqué blocks, negative space. We are all uniquely different, beautiful in our own right, and when we are covered in Christ’s blood we are purified from the inside out.
I love the exciting simplicity of two color quilts. I love red, I love to appliqué and reverse appliqué by hand, and I love to hand quilt. This quilt brings together all these loves, just for the fun of it. Stitching and quilting by hand reminds us that Christ meticulously, painstakingly, lovingly takes the time to joyfully craft us into something beautiful. He creates from beauty into beauty.
Quilt is available for sale.
