Woodland Fern - PDF

$9.00

Take a walk in the woods in the cool of the day.

Difficulty: Beginner - Machine, Beginner - Hand

reverse applique pattern - hand and machine directions

(14" x 56")

The lush marbling of these Malaysian marbled batiks recalled my walks in the woods by streams dripping with the cool of fiddle ferns. So this design came out of my idea and merged with these artisan fabrics by Turtle Hand Batiks to bring you Woodland Fern table runner. The 9 1/2” x 16” Fern and Fern Reverse Blocks sweep and bow with peek-a-boo reverse applique that can be created by hand or machine, to reveal marbled yellow. Lay it out as we have, or come up with a layout of your own design. Easily make it longer or shorter depending upon the number of blocks you choose to make, or make a whole bed quilt of sweeping ferns.

Pattern has complete creation instructions using Eye of the Beholder’s Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch technique, supported by Technique Tutorials and blogs on this website, and full-size, durable pattern pieces. There’s never a need to enlarge the pattern or re-position fabric.

Try it with the lovely fabrics we chose from Turtle Hand Batiks, or create it in a palette that graces your home.
