Spring Rains Medallion will bring a smile to your soul as you stitch with its colorful applique blooms, just as spring rains usher in new life. And like the landscape, full of depth, the medallion will grow richer still as you create the reverse applique blooms, too. Then frame it with diagonal stripes, giving it on-point dynamics. It’s a pattern aimed towards the beginning level stitcher, whether you desire to make it by hand or machine, constructed with 8” blocks.

The Bloom A corner blocks are reverse applique, and the center Bloom B blocks are reverse applique with applique. We used a directional purple print as the top fabric to simulate the sense of rain. It is perfect as a wall-hanging, or use it as the center of a quilt of your own design. The pattern was first published in the American Quilter magazine 2019.
