Reverse appliqué pattern – Hand directions, applique, Under-Coloring & Paper-Piecing

Summertime is an advanced level quilt pattern for hand reverse applique with applique and under-coloring. It springs forth with new life and hope from its center tree with its reverse applique trunk and leaves that are both under-colored and appliqued in two halves to create depth and dimension.

The tree is surrounded by an applique border of flowers with Goldfinches and Robins that you can almost hear singing their hopeful song of new life springing up.

This quilt was designed specifically for the Academy of Applique in fabrics by Batik Textiles, and premiered February 2022.

Pattern booklet is 16 pages of step-by-step creation instructions with pictures using Eye of the Beholder’s Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch technique, supported by Technique Tutorials and blogs on this website, and full-size, durable pattern pieces. There’s never a need to enlarge the pattern or re-position fabric. It also has detailed applique color charts, too.
