Margaret at Open Studios at Houston International Quilt Festival!

Open Studios are a free learning opportunity for all quilt show attendees at Houston International right on the show floor.

If you ever wanted to see artists work in real time right before your eyes, now is the time. During show hours four artists will be working simultaneously (two hours at a time) in each of the rooms, demonstrating their craft. Come by Open Studios on the show floor and be inspired by what these top-notch artists are doing.

While you are watching they give explanations so you learn tips, skills and new ideas to apply to your quilting. And you can ask questions, too.

Margaret will be demonstrating during these times on the following topics.

• Applique Dimensions

• 11/13/26_4 – 6 pm

  Beautify your reverse applique and wow others as you create dimensional life in your quilts. Learn how to "under-color", "over-color" and add multiple layers to see a design recede or gain height. Add some fluff to puff or embellishments. Mix your fibers, change your thread color and add the quilting to see new dimensions give life to your reverse applique creations.
