Create your own Quilted Jacket with Margaret Willingham

This workshop is the first in a series of 5 FUN classes to create your own unique quilted sweatshirt jacket. Classes meet every other Thursday from September 3 - November 19, 2026 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
Class 2 meets on September 19, 1:00 - 5:00 pm .
Express your own creativity as you transform a sweatshirt into a beautiful, wearable quilted jacket. The possibilities are endless. Your jacket will be as unique as you are. Don’t want a jacket? Leave off the sleeves and make a quilted vest instead.
What will you use to make it? One approach is to use orphan blocks, bust through your stash, or leftover binding strips. Or try something new; block designs you’ve wanted to make, a new technique to try out, or a colorway you’ve never played with. Make it random and scrappy or simple and elegant. play with collage, applique. reverse applique. Mix your fibers. Add embellishments. Let your imagination run wild..
Margaret will guide and encourage you, helping you to bring your vision to life while teaching you all the steps: from decontruction of the sweatshirt to construction of a jacket. It’s tons of fun and the results are always amazing.
