Learn machine reverse applique as you make the playful Lollipop Flower block that’s perfect for brand new satin stitching beginners. You will learn the quick and easy steps in Eye of the Beholder’s trace, snip, iron and stitch signature method for machine reverse appliqué.
As you stitch, experience the exciting interplay of two fabrics harmonizing together and coming alive in your hands, to create beauty and joy.
You will get pointers on how to successfully satin stitch covering the raw edges, giving you sharp points without “xes”, crisp corners and smooth, graceful curves without gaps. See the playful drama of the Lollipop Flower block (7 ½” x 7 ½”) revealed as you stitch. Learn with others and experience the fun and beauty of reverse appliqué by machine.
The Lollipop Flower pattern is included in the cost of the class and will be emailed to you as a PDF after you have signed up/ paid. It prints on 8.5” x 11” paper on an in-home printer. Be sure to print full-size.
There are no fabric kits for this class.
If you want to learn a bit about this technique before the workshop, check out our Tutorials section on the website: Machine Reverse Appliqué Tutorial.

Hand-polished and with soft ergonomic grip handles, Kai Scissors are made in Japan of fine stainless steel with vanadium. These scissors are specially balanced to allow for fatigue-free cutting on all types of fabrics. Hardened stainless steel blades offer superior cutting action.
4 inch, bent handled scissors with sharp points. Allowed by most airlines when you travel.
My scissor of choice for Machine Reverse Applique. Super sharp, detailed tips are perfect for cutting fused material without dulling. They poke cleanly into your fused material with ease. The bent-handle keeps your cutting hand off your work allowing you to have great control and visibility to cut precisely into corners and along drawn lines.
They are also fabulous for Hardanger, cutwork and cutting out buttonholes, as well as removing satin stitches from embroidery designs.
