Reverse appliqué gives a unique, dimensional look to your quilted piece! The design is created by the background fabric peeking out through cut-outs in the top fabric. When you do it by machine, it takes no time at all. And even speedier when you Appli-quilt!
Learn the quick and easy steps in Eye of the Beholder’s trace, snip, iron and stitch process to machine reverse appliqué, and get pointers on how to satin stitch like a pro. To Appli-quilt layer your piece before stitching, so the satin-stitch becomes your first round of quilting. However, you do it, see the beauty of the reverse appliqué Hearts & Fleurs table runner (13” x 36”) revealed as you stitch; a table runner gem that looks fabulous in a myriad of colorways! Hand-polished and with soft ergonomic grip handles, Kai Scissors are made in Japan of fine stainless steel with vanadium. These scissors are specially balanced to allow for fatigue-free cutting on all types of fabrics. Hardened stainless steel blades offer superior cutting action.
4 inch, bent handled scissors with sharp points. Allowed by most airlines when you travel.
My scissor of choice for Machine Reverse Applique. Super sharp, detailed tips are perfect for cutting fused material without dulling. They poke cleanly into your fused material with ease. The bent-handle keeps your cutting hand off your work allowing you to have great control and visibility to cut precisely into corners and along drawn lines.
They are also fabulous for Hardanger, cutwork and cutting out buttonholes, as well as removing satin stitches from embroidery designs.
