Reverse appliqué with applique & under-coloring pattern – instructions for hand or machine and machine piecing

This is the 2nd block in our Victorian doorknob series, all based on a 16” block. Mix and match. Look for the 3rd design September 2021. Collect all three designs in the series.

A sweet block that’s the bee’s knees. You can hear the bee buzzing from flower to hive, carrying the pollen to make his honey. The charming Honey Rose block (16” x 16”) can be made by hand or machine reverse applique with applique & under-coloring. Pattern has step-by-step directions for all creation methods using Eye of the Beholder’s easier Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch method for hand, or Trace, Snip, Iron & Stitch method for machine and full-size, durable pattern pieces.  No need to enlarge the pattern or re-position fabric as you trace.  Check out our Technique Tutorials and blogs for more help.

Add the borders for a candlemat or a pillow for your couch. Or get creative with Honey Rose and add more blocks to make a table runner; combine it with the Beehive & Tudor Rose Mug Rug pattern using them as corner blocks to make a larger quilt. When you quilt, consider quilting in that little honey bee in the corners.
