Reverse appliqué gives a unique, dimensional look to a quilted piece because the design is made in the background fabric...the negative space…peeking out of the top fabric!
Join the fun and be empowered! Make the elegantly playful Tudor Rose Mug Rug by hand reverse appliqué for a unique, dimensional look! You will learn Margaret’s easy, signature trace, baste, snip, & stitch method, and use it to successfully reverse applique! You will gain how-to needle-turn appliqué pointers, giving you crisp points and graceful curves. See the dimensional magic of the Tudor Rose Mug Rug (8" x 8") revealed as you stitch. It’s cute in an assortment of colors. What color will you make yours in? Learn with others and experience the fun and beauty of reverse appliqué. Also makes a very pretty potholder.
Pattern is included in the cost of the workshop.
If you want to learn a bit about this technique before the workshop, check out our Tutorials section on the website: Hand Reverse Appliqué tutorial.

4 inch, bent handled scissor with slightly blunted tips. Allowed by most airlines when you travel.
These scissors are my very favorite when I Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch. They allow me to trim away the top fabric without worry of cutting the background fabric. The slightly blunted tip means my scissor blade just glides between the top and background fabric layers.
