Shooting Stars! Added Dimension (#16F3508-Applique)
All Levels - 3 hours
All times are Local: 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Location: Rm 204AB
Workshop: AQS Daytona #16F3508-Applique
Reverse appliqué gives a unique, dimensional look to a quilted piece because the design is made in the background fabric, the negative space, peeking out of the top fabric! The Shooting Star block has added dimension with an appliquéd star inside a reverse appliqué star. The Shooting Stars table décor set pattern has directions for a table runner and 4 placemats. In the workshop you’ll make a placemat with its single Shooting Star block, four appliqué stars, and bunting swags. You will learn how to make the block by hand with reverse appliqué. See how easily you can stitch when you trace, baste, snip, and stitch, and get pointers on your hand stitch work. See the exploding red, white, and blue dimensional beauty of the 8” Shooting Star block for the Shooting Stars table décor set pattern revealed as you stitch. Come be empowered as you make a placemat/pillow top. Learn with others and experience the fun and beauty of reverse appliqué with appliqué by hand.
If you want to learn a bit about this technique before the workshop, check out our Tutorials section on the website: Hand Reverse Appliqué tutorial.
