Climbing Clematis (66” x 80”) is inspired by the beautiful blue Clematis flowers. It was 1st designed as this quilt with the added inspiration provided by the Wildflower fabric collection from Batik Textiles. It was 1st published, however, as a table runner in Love of Quilting magazine, Spring of 2025, in fabrics by Turtle Hand Batiks. It can be made by hand or machine reverse applique with applique. 

It has one block design that is repeated to create a trailing vine. Eight blocks are two-color reverse applique and four-blocks are multi-colored reverse applique with applique for dimension.

As always with our patterns, the pattern piece is full-size and durable, so there’s no need to enlarge the pattern or re-position as you trace the design either onto your fabric, if making by hand, or your Flexi-Fuse if making it by machine. The pattern comes with extensive step-by-step instructions with pictures for hand and machine reverse applique, machine piecing and quilt top assembly. This includes optional quilt-as-you-go quilting/ assembly.
